It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Full of yummy food, hearty laughs
with friends and family, and lots of socializing. With all the fun comes an
increased chance to spread germs and illnesses along the way. While there is
no magic way to ensure that you won’t catch a cold or the flu this season,
below are some tips to help you stay healthy and let you continue the fun all
month long:
Practice good hand hygiene. Remember to wash your hands frequently using
soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Prioritize sleep. Aim to get at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Adequate
sleep helps to support a healthy immune system.
Keep up the daily exercise. Even a simple walk around the block once a day
can help you stay healthy.
Minimize stress. While this can be difficult during the busy end of the
year, it’s important to take some time for yourself throughout the day and
keep your mental health in shape.
If you are sick, stay home and rest. Rest can help you feel better and will
minimize the spread of illness to others.
If you are hosting a holiday gathering, encourage sick loved ones to stay
home and use a video app to attend the gathering virtually and stay
connected.
