      Personalized Nutrition Plans

      At Preferred Health Partners, we offer our patients the services of a Registered Dietitian to evaluate your nutrition needs, design a nutrition plan, and partner with you on your plan implementation. Here is how it works!

      1. Meet with our dietitian for an initial appointment to assess your needs and health goals. We address you as an individual and not as a condition.
      2. Our dietitian then works collaboratively with you to create a personalized nutrition plan, designed to move you towards your optimal health goals.
      3. Schedule regular follow-up meetings with us to continuously evaluate and adjust your plan’s design to achieve your optimal health goals.

      FAQs:

      How do I schedule a nutrition appointment?

      You can schedule the appointment with your physician’s clinical assistant or with any of our dedicated front office staff.


      Do I need to prepare anything before my first meeting with the dietitian?

      Nothing is required. You are welcome to log your food and / or compile a list of any questions and concerns for your first meeting.


      What can I expect from my first meeting?

      You will meet with our dietitian anywhere from thirty (30) minutes to one (1) hour, based on your personalized needs. During this time, the dietitian and you will work together to develop your optimal nutrition plan to meet and achieve your health goals.


      Am I able to meet with the dietitian virtually?

      Yes. Nutrition meetings can be done over the phone, Facetime or Zoom.


      Can the dietitian help me if I do not cook?

      Yes. Our dietitian works with you to find the best food selections at restaurants you frequently visit. She will also provide you with great healthy pick-up options. In addition, she can also work with you on simple, easy meals to prepare at home, if this is something you would like to try.


      If I am currently following a diet. will the dietitian be able to work with me?

      Yes. Our dietitian will assess your current diet and help you continue to reach your goals, while also making sure to monitor your overall health alongside your physician.


      How much do the dietitian services cost?

      Your physician believes in treating your overall health and includes nutrition services as a part of their medical practice to achieve a healthier you. If you are a member of the practice, dietitian services are included.


      How do I contact the dietitian?

      Your dietitian is an extension of your physician. Your physician will make the first referral to our dietitian. Once established, you will have access to her through direct e-mail and phone contact numbers.


      What is a Registered Dietitian?

      A Registered Dietitian is a food and nutrition expert who has met academic and professional requirements including:

      • Earned a bachelor's degree with coursework approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Coursework includes food and nutrition sciences, food service systems management, business, economics, computer science, sociology, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and chemistry;
      • Completed an accredited, supervised practice program at a health care facility, community agency or food service corporation;
      • Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration; and
      • Completes continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration on an ongoing basis.
